I guess I shouldn't have expected much for the price When I found this while searching for a alarm clock I was really impressed. An attractive looking LCD picture frame with MP3 & alarm clock for less then many regular clocks what a deal! When I opened it I was much less impressed. First off even though I used a ruler to try to visualize the size of a 3.5 screen once I opened the package and placed it on my nightstand it just looks tiny. Then I tried to use and within 10 minutes I decided to return it. As a picture frame that you would put on your desk at work maybe it is not too bad. Even though the screen is small in just picture mode it is not terrible. The screen is clear & bright and the resolution is pretty good for what it is.But as an alarm clock it is terrible. You have 3 mode to display the time a rendering of an analog clock that only uses 1/2 of the screen so it is microscopic a full month calendar mode and a clock/date readout with a thumbnail photo. To look at the pictures shown in the Amazon description they all look pretty good magnified on my 22 computer monitor.
Great for use with a Trail Camera!! I use the Coby Viewer /Alarm clock in conjunction with a 4AAUSB Batteries America 5 volt power supply to view pictures from my trail camera when I'm in the field. This works better and has a clearer picture than the commercially available viewers from the Trail Camera Manufacturers. It is also MUCH cheaper.
Worked great for a few months I bought this for my husband's desk at work. I wanted to get him an inexpensive and small frame that he could see pictures of our daughter. He loved it.It worked great for the first few months and then it stopped working completely. He is good with electronics and computers and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work anymore. Waste of money in the end.
Not worth the money I purchased this unit to replace my 20 year old digital clock that bought the farm and I was hoping it was going to be a decent little replacement for itboy was I wrong. The volume that comes out from the rear speaker even at its highest setting is just barely audible and I would not feel comfortable using this device as an alarm clock. Also since the speakers are almost inaudible obviously I can't use it as a MP3 player either especially considering it doesn't have a headphone jack on the device. I copied a few pictures onto an old SD card and viewed them on the device and the crappy resolution of the LCD on this thing is just awful. The only reason I'm even giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is the fact that it actually worked when I pulled it out of the packaging. Do yourself a favor and just look for a Phillips AJL308 for a replacement alarm clock/digital LCD photo frame.
Slow delivery Takes way too long to eve start delivery. It's 4 days & I an stillrecieving the same lame message shipping soon.
Does what it says Pros It does what it says. The display is nice and crisp.Cons Choosing different options in different modes in awkward. When it starts it always goes to the menu rather than clock or photo view. You can't pause the photo slide show and keep listening to music.
Inexpensive and multifunctional but has serious usability issues I got this
Overall very nice for the price I got this for my son's room because it played MP3s had a clock and was a picture frame. It's small but that's what a 3 1/2 frame look like! The cons are that the sounds is quiet even on the loudest setting. The menu settings are a little bit limited. If you have music you can't play the slideshow without music you just have to turn the volume down to zero. The thermometer is obviously not correct. The temperature never goes below 80 degrees which I know is not the case. We have a thermometer nearby that is always 5 to 10 degrees off. Other than that it works great! My son loves to watch the photos change and it seems pretty durable.
A Wonderful Gift I gave this as a gift to my mom who is always wanting prints made from her digital photos.
Recommend you avoid this model Pros inexpensive and multipurpose music and photosCons Reliability actually its lack of reliability manual not helpfulA few months after getting the Coby DP356 it started to freeze up. Seems to be a thermal issue as bottom gets warm. Unplug for about 10 minutes gets another 1015 minutes before it freezes again.
