  • Answer to the sensitivity issue I had the same problem with the touch pad sensitivity. Light touch by an earphone wireit goes crazy. Put it in your pocket it goes crazy. On the touch pad at the upper right there is a Play/Pause/Lock icon. Touch and hold and the touch pad will lock. Only an upward sweep will unlock it. Solved the problem for me.
Navigation is horrible I own an older Sansa Fuze with the wheel on the front. I love it. I decided to upgrade to the 16gb model and so bought this one. The start up time is very long like 20 or more seconds. The navigation is simply horrible. There is no menu or home button and you have to try to memorize which screen appears when you press what space. On my older one I can hit play on the very first song and it will play every song on the device in order. This Fuze only does that if you shuffle the songs. Unfortunately the shuffle function repeats itself a lot.
Awful MP3 player Not long ago I bought the previous model for myself SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB Video MP3 Player. MOST WONDERFUL THING EVER! far better than sliced bread. So I wanted to give one to my husband for his birthday. I go to the same Amazon page and find out that the model I bought for myself has suddenly jumped from about $85 to $248 in a matter of weeks! Ok so I decided to get him the newer model Fuze+. We received it opened it plugged it in but alas it never charged and never turned on. I returned it. Ordered a second one never charged and never turned on. I returned that too. I am in the process of ordering it FOR THE THIRD TIME call me stubborn/stupid. Should this fail too my husband will get the complete set of Doc Martin on DVD. I am awfully disappointed in this crappy product and would highly advise friends not to buy it.
Very dissapointed The sansa came defective. It didn't charge. Right now I'm waiting for credit. Return was submitted a month ago.
Good player I have to say I love this little MP3 player. Sensitive controls big memory good battery life excellent audio quality and many MANY options. It's got radio video books and a voice recorder. It can even RECORD RADIO. Which is excellent btw. It isn't as easy to navigate as Ipods are with their allglass touch screens but the added durability is more than worth it. I've dropped it before onto a tile floor and it came off with nothing worse than scratched paint. The controls are a little weird as mentioned earlier. I see it as a tradeoff for added durability and completely worth it everyone I know who owns an Ipod has broken them more than once and it costs more to fix them than buy a new one. That said you need to be a bit patient with it. The radio presets especially are a pain to set up. I can't compare it with earlier models as this is my first Sansa but I can definately say I like it better than the Ipod nano. Unlike Apple products the Sansa is compatable with multiple programs you can even upload songs from the Sansa onto a new computer. I can get music from Amazon which I also like. I know I couldn't do that with my Ipod. All in all I definately recommend the Sansa. For patient people that is.
Buy something else I'm a huge Sansa fan and own several of their MP3 players three e250's two Clips 2GB and 8GB and two of the previous generation Fuzes both 4GB. When the time came to buy a new player for my oldest boy the choice seemed pretty obvious so on 5/1/11 I bought him a new black Fuze+ 8GB. We gave it to him on his bday 5/16/11 and by 6/18/11 it had already developed some sort of problem and had to be shipped back to Sandisk for a replacement. Sansa's customer service was decent and they shipped out a replacement fairly quickly. The replacement unit lasted from the beginning of 7/11 until 12/12/11 when it too died and had to be shipped back to Sandisk. Again their customer service dept. was fairly responsive and we had a new unit in our hands within a couple weeks. It's now 6/4/12 and I'm sitting here with another dead Sansa Fuze+ that is now beyond the 1 yr warranty. It looks like I'm going to have to buy him a new MP3 player but I can tell you one thing it certainly won't be a Sansa Fuze+.
Not Bad at All With Rockbox Sound quality is great and the touch screen isn't bad at all once you install rockbox. The caveat is that you install rockbox.
not as good as previous model touch screen is annoying. navigation is annoying. otherwise product works fine. previous model had more intuitive navigation and settings as well as physical buttons so you could feel what you wanted to do without needing to stop and look at it.
Not bad With all the negative reviews I still bought one. The touchpad takes a bit to get used to and is a little sensitive at times. I do miss the old model i hadwith the wheel. But as a cheap alternative to the popular mp3 playerslike ipod etc. it's pretty damn good. The only problem I really have is the power/locking button. I never seem to press long enough to turn it on/off and the locking/unlocking seems to take more work than what i would want. I guess i'd rather have the sliding button for the lock.
Don't Buy this product. I'm not sure why Amazon or Sandisk would even associate their name on this product. It is horrible. I had a Fuze and it was a great mp3 player. I wore it out using it every day for a couple of years. I have had the Fuze Plus for a week and I'm ready to pull my hair out. Here are a few examples You can't load audiobooks as an audiobook because it will not play correctly. You have to load it as a Podcast. If your audiobook has a genre name audiobook it will not play correctly. The song name doesn't scroll. So if the song name starts with the album name you can't tell what track you are on. Key controls are go from being too sensitive to not working at all. o Fastforward backward area only works about half the time but if you touch the side of the player not the actual button close to the fastforward backward area the track will jump to the next track. o Sometimes you have to touch a button two or three times to get it to function. o The only way to keep a track playing without it jumping to the next track or back to the beginning to the same track is to lock the controls. This product should have never made it to market.
